- Registering
- When you register for the Paddy’s Day Dip 2026, an online fundraising page will be created for you automatically.
- You can share this page with friends, family, colleagues, and supporters to collect donations online.
- All fundraising activity must be advertised as: “In Aid of the Marie Keating Foundation.”
- Fundraising Disclaimer
We want you to enjoy your Paddy’s Day Dip and stay safe.
- The Marie Keating Foundation accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or injury caused during your event.
- Please seek independent insurance advice and arrange appropriate cover if required.
- The Foundation’s insurance does not cover:
- Your property
- Property belonging to helpers or guests
- Personal liability for injury to yourself or participants
- Use common sense regarding health and safety, especially where food is involved. Follow safe preparation, storage, and hygiene practices.
- Ensure you and your team follow all current Government guidelines (including Covid‑19 guidance where applicable).
- By taking part, you agree to release the Marie Keating Foundation from all liability except where injury or loss arises due to the Foundation’s negligence.
- These conditions help protect both fundraisers and donors and comply with Gardaí requirements.
- Terms and Conditions (Photography & Media)
By participating in the Paddy’s Day Dip 2026:
- You understand that interviews, photographs, or films taken may be used in Marie Keating Foundation publications, promotional materials, our website, or media‑sharing platforms (e.g., YouTube).
- These materials may also be used to highlight cancer issues and support the Foundation’s mission.
- Where possible, we will ask your permission before re‑using any interview, photograph, or film we have taken.
- We cannot control how images or recordings taken by external organisations may be reused.
- Your Fundraising Responsibilities
- All activities must comply with applicable laws.
- If organising a public collection or raffle, contact your local Garda station for advice.
- All events must clearly state they are in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation.
- Follow all current Government guidelines and restrictions.
- Compliance with Fundraising Guidelines
The Marie Keating Foundation is committed to ethical and safe fundraising in line with:
- Government legislation
- Charities Institute Fundraising Guidelines
- Charities Regulator guidelines on fundraising from the public
Please familiarise yourself with these before planning your event.
- How We Use Your Information
- Your information is stored securely and used only to support your participation in the Paddy’s Day Dip.
- It may be shared with selected third‑party service providers working with the Foundation.
- It will not be shared with any other organisation unless required by law or with your permission.
- By providing your contact details, you agree to receive essential event information by email, phone, or SMS.
- You can opt out of further communications at any time.

- Planning Your Paddy’s Day Dip
Before You Plan
Solo / Friends & Family / Workplace / Club or Group
Sea / Pool / Private Bath (risks vary by location)
- Confirm permissions with:
- Landowner
- Harbour office
- Pool operator
- Local authority
- People and Fitness
- All participants must confirm they are fit to take part and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Under‑18s must have:
- A responsible adult present
- Written parental consent
- Nominate a lead organiser and share their name and phone number with all participants.
- Safety on the Day
- Sea dips: check tide times, currents, swell, and water temperature.
- If no lifeguard is present:
- Assign competent shore spotters
- Limit numbers entering the water at one time
- Keep access routes clear for emergency vehicles.
- Identify the nearest exit points from the water.
- Advise participants to bring:
- Towels
- Warm clothing
- Quick‑change options
- Ensure at least one charged phone is available and someone knows the exact location/postcode/coordinates.
- First Aid & Emergency Response
- Bring a basic first aid kit and ensure someone knows how to use it.
- Locate the nearest AED (if available).
- Know the local emergency services number and how to describe your location.
- If someone is in immediate danger:
- Call emergency services first
- Attempt rescue only if safe
- Practical Admin & Compliance
- Seek independent insurance advice.
- For public collections or raffles, contact your local Garda station.
- Follow safe food preparation and storage if serving food.
- Keep emergency contact details and medical notes securely, with consent.
- Incident Recording & Reporting
- Keep a simple log of any injuries or near misses:
- Date
- Time
- Names
- Brief facts
- Report incidents to the Marie Keating Foundation using the event contact email. supportercare@mariekeating.ie
- Checklist Confirmation
As part of your registration for the Paddy’s Day Dip 2026, you will receive a PDF checklist containing the key safety and planning items for your event.
By submitting this form, you confirm that:
- You understand you must review the checklist sent to you after registration.
- You will ensure all relevant permissions, safety measures, and participant considerations are in place before your dip.
- You acknowledge that the Marie Keating Foundation does not provide volunteers, supervision, or insurance for independent events.
- You accept responsibility for planning and running your Paddy’s Day Dip safely and in line with the guidance provided.

- I have read and understood this waiver and guidance.
- I accept full responsibility for planning and running my event safely.
