My Updates

600 kilometres. From Budapest to Slovenia. Two wheels, five days, and one purpose.

Thursday 17th Jul

I’m cycling in support of the Marie Keating Foundation, a charity that provides vital cancer awareness, support, and information services across Ireland. And I’m also riding for the Alzheimer’s Society, a cause that’s particularly close to my heart as my own family has been touched by dementia. Like many families, mine has faced the harsh reality of Alzheimer’s and cancer. These are more than illnesses—they’re life-altering battles that affect not just the person diagnosed, but everyone who loves them. Ive seen up close how critical it is to have support systems, awareness, and early intervention.

This challenge is my way of giving back and raising awareness. I would really appreciate any donation you can make to support these two charities. Please be assured that all money raised goes to charities, the cost and logistics are covered by each cyclist.

Starting in Budapest, Hungary’s magnificent capital, the route will take us through scenic towns, mountain passes, and countryside that spans across borders. We’ll climb, coast, and push through all the way to Slovenia—covering 600km in just a matter of days.

The journey will be tough. There’ll be early mornings, tired legs, and moments of doubt. But I’ll carry with me the stories and support of so many who’ve contributed and encouraged me so far.

Thanks for the support
