Niamh and Gearoid's 20th Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewal

By Niamh Conroy

Niamh and Gearóid are renewing their vows and throwing a joyful celebration to mark 20 years of their incredible love!

A special day of thanks to each and every person who has been by their side on this journey, especially over the past three years.

No gifts are needed, instead it would mean the world to them both if those who can, donate here to the Marie Keating Foundation.

We will leave all other words to the wonderful wordsmith Gearóid who has written this tribute to their beautiful journey and how much everyone’s support means to them both.

My event Sunday 27th July 13:00 - 19:00

My Updates

Somehow, Somewhere and Sometimes it all begins.

Monday 21st Jul
It started with a kiss, actually that’s not quite true,
A red shoe sniffed in jest, says she “now I’m confused.”
Forever friends nurtured in the Excise Bar
That stolen kiss each knowing we would go far.

So, on an Italian adventure I said let us make it last for all days.
And in Catania you looked at me and said “OK”
The Hard Rock Café, Prosecco all day to night
A ring the next day we were on our flight.

A Gougane Barra wedding welcomed a bride and groom.
Life was then spent bouncing around various Dublin rooms.
Like many a couples a thin pocket with hopes of better
But realizing something, somebody was missing from the ledger.

So, after some worry and a sign of no one
Along came the Champ Sebastien, our only son.
Giggles called Evie was next on the scene, Amelie Bear followed so, so serene.
Then a certain mighty Gabbi arrived and completed the team

Then came Covid at which to stare and shake a fist.
Confined, defined, isolated and adrift, couples choose to stick or twist.
Laughter, hugs, tears, kisses, dancing bounded by fear.
At its end six universally frightened souls emancipated cheered

Bang, looking at her, take the news, stage 4 Cancer, immediately the gurney.
How, why, don’t, it’s not this, this is someone else’s journey.
Get away from her you bitch, Ripley strapped her armor on
Living with this diagnosis, my girl has walked and shone.
The rub of Cancer is sometimes you just, just can’t make it on your own.
The Marie Keating foundation will catch you and cover you in hope.
It’s a community, a family, a friendship standing by awaiting your hand.
You’ll never walk alone; this is what the Marie Keating foundation understand.

So, here we are a team lost in non-solipsistic gazes.
Looking for meaning in seconds, places, memories, and phases
I wish I met you sooner but now, matter is out of time.
Holding hands, you have been, are and will always be mine.
