Frequently asked questions

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

What is 100K in 30 Days?

add remove

100K in 30 Days is a nationwide movement challenge organised by the Marie Keating Foundation, encouraging participants to complete 100 kilometres in 30 days while raising funds for cancer support services. That works out at just over 3km a day, but you can complete it in whatever way fits around your schedule.

Where can I complete my kilometres?

add remove

Anywhere that is safe and convenient for you — parks, paths, treadmills, neighbourhood routes, or wherever suits your routine.

Is the event insured?

add remove

Participants take part at their own risk. The Foundation’s insurance does not cover personal injury or property. Please follow all safety guidelines and seek insurance advice if needed.

Can I take part outside of Ireland?

add remove

Yes — you can take part from anywhere in the world and log your kilometres through the online platform.

Will 100K in 30 Days return next year?

add remove

Yes — it is an annual event. We’ll share updates about the 2027 challenge later in the year.

TAKING PART

What activity counts towards the challenge?

add remove

The challenge is open to walkers, runners and wheelchair users. Families are welcome, and children can use bikes or scooters if that helps them take part safely with their parent or guardian.

Can I take part as a team?

add remove

Yes — you can create or join a team during registration. Teams can be friends, families, workplaces, clubs or community groups.

Do I need my T‑shirt before I start?

add remove

No — you can start anytime. (But we do recommend wearing something to avoid sunburn)

How do I log an activity?

add remove

You’ll receive access to your 100K page once you register. From there, you can log activities, create or join teams, track your progress and view your fundraising. Full instructions will be posted online.

What if I don’t reach 100K?

add remove

That’s completely okay. Every kilometre moved and every euro raised makes a difference. The challenge is about participation, purpose and impact.

Can children take part?

add remove

Yes — children can join in with a parent or guardian and can use bikes or scooters if needed.

Do teams have to complete 100K each or 100K together?

add remove

Each participant completes their own 100K, but teams can set shared goals if they want to.

What device can I use to record my distances?

add remove

You can use any device or app you prefer — Fitbit, Garmin, Strava, or you can log your kilometres manually.

Can I do more than 100K?

add remove

Absolutely. Many participants set personal goals above 100K. Your dashboard will track every kilometre you complete throughout June.
