Walking for Louise & Robby

In memory of my sister Louise, who would have celebrated her 50th birthday this June, and my youngest cousin Robby, who passed away earlier this year, I’m taking on 100km in 30 Days to help fund life-saving cancer awareness, education, and support services across Ireland.

From personal experience, I know how important early diagnosis can be. Louise was diagnosed with an advanced and rare form of ovarian cancer. She fought a hard battle for two years before passing away in January 2019. I am also remembering Robby from Boston, whose loss is still very recent for our family. 

In 2020, I became a voluntary trustee on the board of the Marie Keating Foundation, where I have seen first-hand the tremendous work they do to drive awareness of cancer symptoms and support people and families affected by cancer.

This year, my brother and I, along with some of Louise’s friends, will walk part of the challenge together on her birthday on June 6th, in beautiful Glenveagh National Park in Donegal. This is a fitting place to remember Louise and Robby, and mark the milestone birthday Louise should have been here to celebrate.
